The location of the Copthorne is fantastic, just a short walk to Symphony Hall and the Christmas market. The hotel lobby and bar feel welcoming and decent. you can tell they were recently updated. I booked a Club Room, hoping for something special. The room, however, felt outdated and needed a refresh. The decor was tired, and I noticed some makeshift repairs in the bathroom that weren't encouraging. The bed sagged a bit, making it less comfortable than expected. After entering, I found the room cold and struggled with the thermostat. it didn’t clearly indicate how to adjust it, leading to an overly warm evening. there’s a significant building project right outside, creating noise that made it hard to relax. On the plus side, I enjoyed the breakfast. Great variety and everything was fresh, a definite highlight. The staff at breakfast were attentive, making the start of the day pleasant. Unfortunately, my experience with room service was disappointing. I waited too long for simple items, which were crucial after a long day out. I appreciated the complimentary drinks vouchers for Club Room guests, which was a nice touch. the hotel has great potential with its location and some good staff, but it really needs to address cleanliness and the room conditions for a better experience.

The room was okay but felt really dated. No air conditioning made it tough, especially with the noise from the road when the window had to be open. The beds were comfy enough, but the decor and curtains looked tired. Light bulbs weren’t working, and there was some mould in the bathroom. Just a bit of a letdown for a supposed 4-star place.

I had a good experience at the hotel during my stay. The breakfast was of good standard with many options. The bar area was comfortable, making it easy to unwind after a long day. The check-in process was fast with a polite receptionist.
The room was dated and lacked air conditioning, making it uncomfortable during the heat. Noise from the main road was an issue since the window needed to be open to cool down.

The location allows easy access to nearby sights on foot, and the eclectic British dishes exceeded expectations. Trying to access the only available lift can mean long waits, and the lack of Asian cuisine for lunch was disappointing.

My stay at the Copthorne was quite pleasant. The check-in process was efficient, and the reception staff was welcoming. The room I stayed in was a Standard Double Room, which was both comfortable and clean. The breakfast offered a decent variety, including freshly made eggs and sausages, which suited my morning preferences well. the hotel is conveniently located near the city center, making it ideal for exploring local amenities and business meetings.

Dated facilities need urgent refurbishment!!! Limited parking is a logistical nightmare!!! Room temperature control issues caused discomfort!!! Noise pollution disrupted sleep quality!!! Check-out process could use improvement!!!

The bar area offers a relaxing space to unwind, with a decent variety of cocktails, though some were out during my stay. It’s conveniently located just a short walk from the city center, making it easy to explore local shops and attractions.
The facilities feel a bit tired and dated. the room I stayed in lacked air conditioning, which made it uncomfortable during warmer weather. Noise from the main road was noticeable, especially with the window open to cool down. ongoing development works outside complicate access and might keep you feeling a bit trapped. Despite having a decent range of breakfast items, slow service at meal times can be frustrating, particularly if you’ve got a busy schedule.

Disaster from start to finish
So I arrived at the hotel after a long drive, only to find the car park full. Had to circle around for ages then found a spot at a different place, but it was coins only. Check-in was a total mess with no help from staff. Room was decent, but room service took forever! Btw, the bar area was okay.

Nice enough stay
Honestly don’t get the negative buzz about this place. We had a warm, comfy room that was perfect for winter. The buffet breakfast was fresh and hot, and the staff were super friendly. The only thing was the decor felt a bit dated. If I’m in Birmingham again, I’d totally come back here.
